Wow, is the weekend over already? Not that I have to go anywhere tomorrow, but I only get the one day with DJ and it just passes too fast!! Admittedly we did sleep in VERY late today, but we went to bed late and DJ has been working 11 hour shifts and getting only about 6 hours of sleep on weeknights. So it was nice, but it did put our plans for the day back a bit. Also the phone call from PJ's Campus Books about the credit cards not working and us having to go up to the store did not help!! Especially after being up at the store last night until about 10:45pm moving stacks of books and packing them up. My neck and back hurt. UGH! On to Costco for formula and water...then Target for non-food items....then to Marketstreet for groceries. What an exciting Sunday.
I do have some exciting Nate news that I have neglected to report until today. He had his 2 month checkup last Monday and got his 4 shots...that was not fun. However, he was measured and he now weighs 10 lbs 10 oz and is in the 25th percentile for weight, 30th percentile for height and 25th percentile for his head size. Last time he only was measuring in the 5th percentile for all of those things (although I wasn't told this at the time). So he's growing fast and is well within the normal range! :) Also, the doctor heard the clicking again in his hips so she referred us to get an ultrasound on his hips to make sure everything was still developing normally. So Tuesday we went in and had his hips looked at and thankfully everything was OK!! What a relief! I couldn't stand the thought of having to put him in a little harness for 4-6 weeks so that his hips could grow properly. Now we don't have to worry about it! (Even though we thought this issue was over last month....)
Developmentally, he is right on track as well. He is doing lots of tummy time and lifts his head quite well. He follows me around the room with his eyes when I walk away from him, he's smiling a LOT lately (and not just from gas!), and his starting to grab hold of things on purpose. Oh, and he coos and talks to us so much, it's so cute! We have him listening to music all the time and all different kinds of music. Lullabies typically put him right to sleep, but "dance" music puts a smile on his face and he seems to move his arms and legs a little more! It is such a joy to watch him grow and develop. Everytime he does something for the first time we get so excited!
Ok, enough bragging on my little guy. Well...maybe just one more....he is sleeping at least 5 hours every night now! Sometimes even more. This is the best thing, especially for me. I have always been a good sleeper and have missed my sleep the last two months! I might not be so forgetful, clumsy, frustrated, exhausted or irritable now that I'm getting more sleep! This remains to be seen. That's all for now, I need a shower! :)
